New Year's Resolutions | Part 1

It's that time again...my somewhat annual New Year's Resolution post, where I talk about what I want for the coming year and how I did last year!

2010
2014
2015

So to recap last year...I want to be more present with my children and I wanted to get my anxiety under control.

Two pretty lofty goals, I think.

Well I am definitely more present with my kids. This past year hasn't been as hard as last, and I think we are doing a pretty good job at this thing called doing life together. I love my boys. They are pretty much my reason for being, and they bring me so much JOY. Oh man. I cannot even put it into words. If I had Grayson's energy, I could get so much done! If I had his exuberance for life, there would be no more days of anxiety. If I had Easton's sense of humor, I would be funnier than Jim Gaffigan ;) If I had his sweet disposition, I think everyone around me would happier. In a nutshell - the kids are awesome. We have gotten to do some fun projects this year, and we have come a long way!

Anxiety.

Oh man. Resolution FAIL.

I cannot get it under control. Today I had a pretty big panic attack that had me reaching out to my mom, my cousin, Mike and a good friend - all via text. My doctor would like to put me on some medicine, but that scares the crap out of me. On the days I don't have anxiety, I recognize that and put my all into that day and I can get so much done, I can enjoy every little minute where I am not concerned about stuff I cannot control. It's awesome. But on those days when anxiety hits, I am basically done for. I can still take care of my kiddos, but it takes a lot of effort to do anything.

It's the worse.

But on the upside some of the smaller goals from last year, I accomplished! I don't drink soda anymore! YAY!!!! I got my Pepsi addiction under control and my waistline is thanking me. So technically I fulfilled two goals with one fell swoop. I also came up with a system for laundry! Woot. I am doing good in all these areas anyway.

Well this post is getting pretty long but look forward to Part 2 of my New Year's Resolutions coming SOON.
