He's he-ere!
Introducing...
Grayson Michael
Born 11/25/12 at 3:02 am
Grayson entered the world via emergency c-section. Mike got to step into the role of Daddy immediately and went with the baby while I was in the recovery room. They got to spend some time bonding in the nursery.
Grayson is such a joy! He and his daddy hit it off immediately.
There is nothing more attractive than watching your husband turn into a daddy. Be still my heart.
We were in the hospital for SO many days...I could not wait to get home. I missed my bed. Which funny enough, I haven't gotten to sleep in since that first night home. Taking the steps more than once a day is just too difficult right now. So for now, we have been crashing on the couch.
Unfortunately Gray had problems with jaundice, and he had light therapy with a bili blanket. Mike told people his son was rocking a low profile LED light bar - just like a police cruiser ;)
I love his little frowny face :)
We had to go to the hospital every day last week to get his bilirubin checked. This required a heel stick - and by Saturday, the people in the lab knew him by name. Only in a small town! Baby Gray did AWESOME during his heel sticks, and barely made a peep for each test. We had to wrap a heel warmer around his tiny little foot in preparation for the stick.
Gray's doctor set us up with a home health agency to come our house and take his blood test, but when the agency called and asked if they were going to give him a cynergist (sp?) injection, I freaked! I said, "No, you are supposed to test his bilirubin levels." The reply I got? "Oh I guess I should have read his chart." YIKES! Needless to say we called the doctor and protested.
Thankfully Grayson's bili levels are low enough that he know longer needs the bili blanket! Awesome.
I've been dealing with recovering from surgery. It has been a slow process. But I need to remember its only been a week and a half...I need to take it easy. Mike has six weeks of paternity leave, and we have been enjoying tackling the challenge of parenthood together! Late night feedings, doctors appointments, diaper blow outs, baby pee during baths...we have been doing it together. It's been so fun! :)
I love my little family.
