Our Every Day

I don't normally pick a Bible verse or a word that serves as an anthem for a new year, but I do know a lot of people who do. Tonight while I was loading the dishwasher and ducking down behind the island and then jumping up to the giggles of my kiddos, a verse came to mind... "She is clothed in strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come." Proverbs 31:25. As it turns out I can't laugh at the days to come because I am too worried about what is going to happen next!!! After I looked that verse up and read over it several times, I felt a bit lighter, a bit easier than I have in several days. Even just a tiny bit of relief is an answer to prayer. So that will be my verse for this year, and I am pretty excited about it. I plan to write it out and put it in my car, on my mirror in the bathroom, wherever I can see it over and over again. It's that time again...my somewhat annual New Year's Resolution post, where I talk about what I want for the coming year and how I did last year! 2010 2014 2015 So to recap last year...I want to be more present with my children and I wanted to get my anxiety under control. Two pretty lofty goals, I think. Well I am definitely more present with my kids. This past year hasn't been as hard as last, and I think we are doing a pretty good job at this thing called doing life together. I love my boys. They are pretty much my reason for being, and they bring me so much JOY. Oh man. I cannot even put it into words. If I had Grayson's energy, I could get so much done! If I had his exuberance for life, there would be no more days of anxiety. If I had Easton's sense of humor, I would be funnier than Jim Gaffigan ;) If I had his sweet disposition, I think everyone around me would happier. In a nutshell - the kids are awesome. We have gotten to do some fun projects this...

I haven't posted in awhile about our life lately, so I guess this is as good as time as any! We are getting ready for Christmas here. I was just reflecting over the past few Christmases. Four years ago, Mike was in training for his job and we had no kids. Three years ago, we had just moved and we had a newborn. Two years ago I was pregnant with a one year old. One year ago I had a two year old and a six month old. This year I have a 3 year and a 1 1/2 year old. WOW.  We have meager Christmas decorations out this year. All my beautiful Shiny Brites are tucked away safely in the basement. Maybe I will bring them out in a few years. This year we have a tiny little tree with just a few ornaments. One of the boys decided to add a special touch and put some play food in our tree this year. I believe it is a Melissa and Doug cucumber. Their own version of hiding the pickle in the tree I guess! Of course it took no time for the tree to get pushed ove...

On Saturday, I had plans with a friend, so Mike had the boys for a good portion of the day. He took them out to the farm so they could spend some time with their Grandpa and Grandma. Judging by the pictures he took (and by how well the boys slept that night!), everyone had a wonderful time! Wagon Ride! Lets just zoom in on Easton's face because it is PRICELESS. Easton was a late walker, and he is just now getting the hang of running. Mike said Easton shrieked with joy the entire time he was outside running around. Look at that high step! Grayson doesn't go anywhere without a blanket and a stuffed animal. I mean seriously. HOW CUTE! The boys were really interested in the cows. This is not unusual for Easton - he thinks they are hilarious. But Grayson can sometimes be afraid of them, depends on his mood. I am glad he liked them this visit! :)

Grayson turned THREE last week. I can hardly believe it. We celebrated him on Friday night with pizza, grandparents, George Pig and the Tucker fam. Oh and cake. Devil's food cupcakes that he was snatching from other people's plates and dipping his hands into all the frosting. Ultrasound, Newborn and Today <3 Reading to jump in some muddy puddles. He is active, funny, gracious, loving, compassionate and has a heart of gold. He wants to be friends with EVERYONE. He loves to be chased and to chase, and he would be lost without going to play group each week. Every day he is saying new words. He is still largely non-verbal but we are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel. This past week he started doing all the animal noises to the book "Moo, Baa, La La La" by Sandra Boynton :) We have read that book thousands of times since he was teeny tiny, and he walked into the room when I was reading it to Easton, doing all the sounds lik...
