This week our county social worker and I were meeting about things going on with Grayson and programs we are involved in. She has been by my side since Grayson was about 18 months old - helping, encouraging and making me laugh through it all. As we were catching up, Easton was pretty upset but ended up calming down. He came into the kitchen, got a bag of tortilla chips out of the pantry and started munching on them straight from the bag.
He was barefoot, wearing sweatpants, no shirt - per usual. He looked at me as he was crunching away on a chip and said, "Mama Duck, are you thankful for me?" So random. So Easton.
I said "Of course I am! I am very thankful for you!"
I told Mike later that I just wanted to commit that image and that question to memory forever. It showed his true sweet nature, no matter how ornery he is - like as I type this he is pretending to hit keys on the keyboard as well!
Mike said it was too bad I didn't get a picture of Easton standing there - but I said if I write it down, hopefully I will always remember it.
