Ten Year Challenge
I have been writing on this blog for 10 years! Some years, I write consistently - other years, not so much! The other day I went back and looked at some of my old posts.
You can read my first post HERE! Spoiler alert: It's weird and kind of boring.
2009 was a difficult year. We were living in Cleveland to start the year - and just about two weeks in, Mike was laid off from his landscape architecture job along with others at his office due to the precarious state of the economy at the time. He had only been at his job for about 8 months, and truthfully was not liking it very much. It's interesting that looking back - that lay off completely changed the trajectory of our lives!
We moved back to Columbus where I was thankfully re-hired back to my old job at the company I had left to move to Cleveland. We struggled under the weight of having just my job to cover two rent payments until our landlords could find new renters! Mike searched for jobs and finally landed at Kroger once again - where he worked during college - and that kept him gainfully employed until his next career change - which turns out is really the better fit for him.
Mike has changed in ten years. I am also a completely different person. I think we are stronger now, more resilient against the storms life sends our way.
In 2009, Grayson was still three years away, but that's another monumentally huge way our family has changed in a decade - with the addition of our crazy three kids!
All in all? It's been a great decade - hands down the BEST - so far in all my nearly 4 decades ;)
