A Christmas letter

I am going to TRY my best to get a Christmas card out this year. But I thought in the meantime I would post this little "Christmas Letter" of updates about our family.

Mike | Just transferred posts and is slated to be on third shift starting in a few days until at least the new year. Buys rice in bulk. Listens to all the Jocko Willink podcasts. Hilarious as always. Somehow hasn’t aged one bit in years. Likes running, wood-carving, researching new guns to purchase, participating in three-gun competitions and making up ridiculous storylines while reading books to our kids. Frequently says “you’re right” to something you have said  (or maybe you didn't say) that doesn’t require this type of reply.

Grayson (Almost 6) | Our firstborn. Has a birthday soon! One heck of a killer smile. Accomplished bus rider. Kindergartner. Likes eating Oreos (and only Oreos), playing outside, swinging, doing the laundry and playing on his iPad. Enjoys driving his mother crazy by asking to go in the car 200 times a day. Refuses to wear shoes. Loves to play ball in the basement. Have we mentioned he likes Oreos?

Easton (4) |  Known by his fellow preschool classmates as “the wild one.” Comes up with the funniest sayings. Great big brother to Jovie. Likes going to the “barm”, hijacking Grandpa’s phone, eating blueberries, listening to Taylor Swift and “the thunder song” by Imagine Dragons and all things spooky. Makes up stories and songs all the time. Obsessed with pumpkins and snowmen. Despises Christmas music and is unsure about Santa. Everyone is his friend.

Jovie (17 months) | Walking and talking. (A lot can happen in one year!) Blowing kisses is her thing. Can climb up the stairs but not come down them. Loves to do whatever Easton is doing and must eat whatever he is eating. Loves “CHEEEEESE!” and has to point out “SHOEEESSSS!” on everyone. Acts sweet and shy but don’t let it fool you - she is a wrestling machine. Doesn’t act like she has two big brothers at all.

Erin | Overtired mother of 3. Threatens daily to run away and sometimes means it. Aging rapidly. Loves rainbows. Enjoys being in her new house. Shocked and disappointed everyone by getting two tattoos this year. Likes watching Chopped and The Golden Girls on her phone. Cannot go to bed until her kitchen is clean. Cannot finish a complete thought. Thinks her kids’ laughter is a little bit of heaven on earth.
