Post-Partum Stress
Here's a list of things you shouldn't do after having a newborn:
- Sell your house.
- Make an offer on a house to move into.
- Get super excited about living in your old neighborhood.
- Get not great news after the inspection and decide to rescind your offer.
- Start packing without giving yourself time to fully heal.
- Debate with your spouse about what house to move into.
- Put an offer on a new house.
- Deal with contract negotiations on new house for days on end.
- Battle an infection in your csection incision complete with fever and heavy antibiotics because you are doing too much.
- Expect that you will soon be on a schedule and your kids will start sleeping through the night.
- Expect that you will finally sleep in your own bed.
- Make the decision to cut your hair you have been growing out for three years.
- Make the huge mistake of looking at people's facebook profiles after being up late at night and seeing things people post that make you profoundly sad.
- Realize that your shoes except three pairs of flip flops and your rainboots have been moved to storage already - but it doesn't matter because your feet grew during pregnancy and they won't fit you anyway.
- Put away all your jeans because they cause you physical pain to wear them. (See above incision infection.)
- Keep forgetting to eat because someone always needs you for something that takes precedence.
So in a nutshell, the last almost six weeks have been STRESSFUL. Two weeks until we close on our house and move in with my parents for a short time until our new house closes. Mike will go back to work next week probably more exhausted than ever.
Right now my head is spinning from the logistics of it all. I keep reminding myself that moving will be a good thing despite the temporary insanity I am feeling right now. :)
More information about that to come <3
I am really fine. I just feel better after writing this post!
