What a beautiful day for Mother's Day! Mike is outside mowing the lawn, and I am loving that fresh-cut grass smell and the beautiful sunshine pouring through my open windows. Our morning had a bumpy beginning all thanks to a misbehaving two year old and his brother who had a meltdown. But we made it to church with no other issue despite a lot of tears from me.
I was reminded for the billionth time this morning just how terribly difficult motherhood can be. This stage I am in is hard - made even more difficult I think by having that autism factor tossed in there - but I have heard the teenage and grown-up years are worse. Sometimes I wonder what I signed up for - but then I see my cute kids, and I can't help but smile.
So needless to say, I am glad we took our annual Mother's Day picture yesterday - because today I am rocking day old hair and my stomach is quite large - I swear it's larger than yesterday, to the point where I am now nearly knocking my children over if they come to close.
What are your plans for Mother's Day? Mike said I can get Olive Garden take-out - something I have been craving since Thursday night and I hope I can get Coldstone too because that just sounds good today. I guess we will wait and see! Haha!
