Things that have made me smile today...

- Grayson is feeling better!

- Easton is very spunky today. (Which is a blessing and a curse.)

- I am working on a cross-stitch for the baby's room (more on that later) and I am so close to being done, I can almost taste it. 

- Easton leaned in and was watching something on Grayson's ipad with him and they just had a moment of brotherly love. And I felt like they looked so much alike for maybe the first time ever. And then I could picture a blonde little chick in there with them and it made me smile.

- I rearranged the pantry and some cabinets today because they were a mess. The kids would just pick whatever they wanted out of the pantry and eat it - so I had to put a stop to that.

- Today marks the half way point with my heart monitor. Tomorrow I will change it out - it lasts 7.5 days. Which means I have 15 more days left! I am looking forward to getting this adhesive gunk off my chest and being able to shower without it on! I did hear from the company this past week that they weren't getting any information from the transmitter and they asked me to make sure I had turned it on. I know that they works with elderly people but really. :) It was turned on, no issue there, but given the rural area where we live, they don't have cellular access to it. She told me when I go out and about I should see if it is working, but I told her that I don't go anywhere. Seriously. I have not left our town in two weeks.

- Grayson's speech therapy was denied by our insurance company, so our speech therapist fought it and won! We start back next week!

43 and worried

I turned 43 yesterday.  A few weeks ago, I had to get my license renewed. I was feeling okay until I pulled out my old license and went to hold it up against my new license image. Mike caught me doing this, and he said, "NO! Don't do it, Erin!" which made us both laugh until I looked down and was shocked by the contrast. Four years ago, 20 pounds lighter (at least), smiling, hair perfectly done (or as well as I could do hair which isn't ever that great), I looked at least my age. Mike once remarked that of all the many license pictures he sees, mine was a really great picture. (But I know four years ago, life was no easier than it is now - in some ways it was harder.) But then the current picture. No life in the eyes or maybe just a lot of sadness, an abundance of wrinkles, hair that was out of place, and attempt at a half-hearted smile and a few additional chins. He's he-ere!

Introducing... Grayson Michael Born 11/25/12 at 3:02 am Grayson entered the world via emergency c-section. Mike got to step into the role of Daddy immediately and went with the baby while I was in the recovery room. They got to spend some time bonding in the nursery. Grayson is such a joy! He and his daddy hit it off immediately. There is nothing more attractive than watching your husband turn into a daddy. Be still my heart. We were in the hospital for SO many days...I could not wait to get home. I missed my bed. Which funny enough, I haven't gotten to sleep in since that first night home. Taking the steps more than once a day is just too difficult right now. So for now, we have been crashing on the couch. Unfortunately Gray had problems with jaundice, and he had light therapy with a bili blanket. Mike told people his son was rocking a low profile LED light bar - just like a police cruiser ;)  I love his little frowny face :) ...

Show and Tell Tuesdays | Momfessional Moments

Today I am linking up with Andrea at Momfessionals  to share a little bit about my Momfessional Moments. You know those things you do that you feel a little guilty and embarrassed about, but you do it as a means to survive! We go for drives. A LOT. Grayson loves riding in the car. It is one of his favorite activities. And since I got my new car in November, it is also my new favorite activity. If I am feeling bored, or anxious or if someone is screaming and just won't stop, I load them up in the car and we go for a drive. I can turn my music on and turn my seat warmer up, and I am as happy as a clam. Good thing gas is cheap right now. I let my kids watch The Tonight Show. I have loved Jimmy Fallon for many years. And I usually try to catch it on Hulu after it airs each night. But lets face it, he's probably not the best example for my kids. We don't usually watch the guests - just the first part where he does his monologue, hashtag and thank you note segments. Once ...
