Life Lately

I have been wanting to write a Life Lately post for awhile now, but time by myself is at a premium in these parts. Add into it the complication of our computer never working ever and not being allowed to download any more pictures on to it because of a memory issue. Sometimes I sit down to write and can only get so far before my computer crashes, and then I get angry.

I seriously have written Easton's Two Year post which was supposed to be published months ago, and the computer dies on me and I lose everything.

So frustrating. I wish I had a Mac again.

SO. The kids are asleep, laying sprawled out on top of each other in my bedroom instead of in their separate beds but this mom is going to take what she can get tonight.

Here's what is going on with us in bullet-point fashion:

- Easton has had a language explosion. He is talking all the time. He is also singing songs with us. My current favorites...he says "THE END" when we are done reading every book and says, "OF COURSE" whenever we ask him anything. He also says, "Mama??" followed by a few recognizable words.

- Grayson started POINTING this week and naming things!!! He started small with a placemat with different animals and colors on it, and what I love the most is that he is pointing with his LEFT hand. JUST LIKE HIS DAD!! That kills me. It makes me smile so much. Grayson is hilarious :) We had to instill an ipad ban and we cut back on the TV a lot a lot a lot because Grayson was really struggling. Doing those two things have been a huge positive for him, and I am so glad we did it. Grayson is saying all sorts of new things and his mimicking a lot more than he has in the past. One of his favorite things to say is, "Come on now" and you better "come on now" right away or he gets upset ;)

- Everything is on lockdown. In order to do laundry I have to unlock the laundry room doors, unlock the washer, unlock the dryer, unlock the  bedroom door to get the laundry basket, and if I have to use the restroom while I am there, I also have to...unlock the toilet. One of my son's - who shall remain nameless - has taken to throwing all sorts of things into the toilet.

- Mike started MMA classes. Yep. You read that correctly.

- So we have a dog now. My dad and mom had to put down my childhood dog Silvie - one of the two - the other one was put down about 10 years ago - ANYWAY - but they were keeping Daisy for us. Well now Daisy is back home. We are a few days in, but it's going okay I think. She is setting boundaries with Easton which is good because he needs it. She is an expert in slyly taking food out of his hands. She will probably gain 10 lbs by being back home. When she moved to my parents two years ago, Easton was just a newborn. He loves having a dog in the house, and the first day she was here, he tried to teach her the alphabet. It was adorable. He would hold a letter up to her nose and say, "WHAT IS IT?!?! A DOUGLE-YOU!" (A double-you). Grayson also loves having a dog with us. She sits between the boys in the car, and he pets her which is so cute. He also giggles when she gets close to him.

- I desperately need a fenced in back yard. The boys have been so rambunctious lately, and I have to take them for drives because I just don't know what to do with them. I can take them to the farm to run but I have to really watch them, and sometimes that is hard. I can take them to my parents but I am worried about them running away there too. We played in the backyard tonight for a little bit but I was worried about our neighbor's pitbulls and the collection of junk in their backyard - I had to keep telling the boys to stop where they were going if they even got close to the property line. It's just not safe :( We have the money to build it, just not the time or the know-how. We aren't terribly handy people.

I think that's it. I will post more once we got our CD of family pictures!!!! :)
