I am *that* mom :)

I wasn't going to be one of those moms who wrote detailed blog posts about their children's toileting habits. Nope nope nope. That wasn't for me.

But yet, here I am. About to write a post about toilet training.

But I will spare you the pictures, so be thankful for that. My parents and Mike were not so lucky. I am not sorry about that :)

I am not sure if you know this, but potty-training a little boy is hard work. At least my little oldest boy. He is quickly closing in on 4, and he is no longer afraid of the toilet (win!) Since he is non-verbal and he has some difficult following verbal commands (sometimes but not always) we have tried potty training a number of times, and then we stop because it doesn't seem to be making a difference.

But twice in the past week, he has stripped down and peed INTO something. Not a toilet. Oh heavens never a toilet. Once it was a fabric bin that got pitched because there is no coming back from that. And the other was a laundry basket. So if he is going INTO something, then I think he's ready. Last night during the night he didn't go at all until he was awake this morning.

So I think he's ready. And if I am going to train him, I might as well train his brother also. I decided we would start today, because the idea of having both of my boys out of diapers makes me want to throw a party. So I took inventory of little boy underwear, and we have like two pairs. Mike and I have this ongoing debate on whether or not the boys should have the same type of underwear - funny what we talk about these days. I determined that of course that wasn't going to be enough.

So when Mike got home from court today, I slipped out to the store. I was a mom on a mission. I had my earbuds in so not to be distracted by other shoppers. I grabbed a bag of M&M's - Easton's favorite - and a bag of chocolate chips - Grayson's favorite. I bought two packages of briefs but was bummed they didn't have any Thomas kind because Thomas is the way to Easton's heart. I got a package of boxer briefs for Grayson. And then stopped by and got the largest thing of paper towels I could find.

So now that we are home, it's been so far so good. I have mainly been focusing on Easton, but tomorrow...tomorrow we will have three days of no plans and more than a week until school starts for both boys since they started a little later this year. We can do this.

I think.

Send prayers. I am going to need them. :)
