Life Lately

Well we've met a couple of pretty big milestones around these parts.

Grayson can now open doors. I know - he's a little behind in learning how to do that - and I am totally okay with that - because the kid is a flight risk. I mean. FLIGHT RISK. My biggest fear is the police finding him in the middle of the night and we didn't even know he left the house. This does happen to autistic kids and pretty frequently, so if you think that is kind of dumb thing to be worried about, think again. I've already turn the door chime alarms on our doors thanks to our security system, and we are talking about getting locks out of his reach. We discuss the importance of "STOP" and "staying with Mommy and Daddy at all time." SO far anyway, he appears to understand that when he is in his room and the door is shut that means quiet time. And if he opens it, he sees Mommy's mean face ;)

Today I had both boys when I went to pick Gray up at school, and Easton was throwing a giant fit. I stopped to get him to stand up, and Grayson took off towards the busy county road the school sits on. It's a school zone, but it's definitely not enforced. I shouted to him to stop, and he did listen! I was so proud of him.

Easton. Today I ran to the store, and the minute I pulled in the driveway Mike called me. "We need to discuss your son," he said. Uh-oh. I ran into the house thinking something really bad had happened. As it turns out Mike found Easton wedged between the wall and his crib...under his crib. What on earth. I had walked by about 45 minutes earlier during nap time, and Easton was singing to himself so I decided not to check on him since he seemed happy. Apparently he was up to no good. So now, we have officially turned the crib into a big boy bed.

It makes me excited because we are THAT much closer to getting rid of the crib. We are completely done with the high chair! So the crib needs to be next. I cannot wait to be officially done with the baby stage! :)

I will post some pictures later, but I had a few minutes while the kids were eating dinner so I thought I would share <3
