Easton | 22 Months

This past month has been a big month for our Easton!

We made a trip to the doctor because I thought he had an ear infection (he didn't - more on that later) and he weighs about 30 lbs - just a few pounds less than Grayson!

His looks are changing but he is still very much Easton. Grayson's looks changed all the time while he was getting older - and they still are - but not Easton. :) He still looks just like he did when he was a newborn.

We are trying to phase out his high chair. It's not going the best. But I will be SO happy when that high chair is out of my kitchen, and I no longer trip on its stupid legs! :)

He officially knows all of his letters and is starting to point them out wherever we go. The other day we went over a railroad track crossing with just the cross-hatch signs, and Easton announced, "ECK! ECK!" I was impressed. Instead of saying W, he says "you you." Along with letters, he is also doing colors. He grabbed my hairspray off the counter the other day and said, "PURPLE." I was surprised he knew that because we haven't really worked on colors. He's like a sponge - soaking it all in!

His favorite thing to do is get on my phone and get into the snapchat filters. In fact today he even said, "Snapcat!!" He has one particular video where he is wearing round glasses and has an extra chubby face and he is saying, "Mama! Mama! Shee-uh Shee-uh Shee-uh" while pumping his arm in the air. We have no idea what this means, but it is his all time favorite video of himself and he giggles with glee every time he watches it.

He know calls my dad "Caw-Caw" which is adorable and silly. (My dad is a good sport.) Grandma is "Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma." Mike is "Dat" and I am wondering if Easton might be a little Amish ;) He is also calling Grayson "Sray-son."

He sings a lot - usually the alphabet but sometimes an indiscernible tune. Mike says its probably Sam Hunt who is this mama's newest favorite singer. (I probably should be listening to something a little more appropriate!)

He has made a few trips to the barn with his grandparents to visit the cows. He likes to get right up in their faces and pet their noses or grab at them. Boy are those cows incredibly patient with him! He is always under the watchful eye of Grandpa Dave and Grandma Beth, so he is always safe. The other day Grandpa let out a little newborn calf - just a few days old - and let it gallop around while Easton ran with it. It was too cute! Of course this stick-in-the-mud mom didn't want to get out of the car in the pouring rain and tromp through the mud to get to the barn and when I finally did much to my husband's cajoling, I forgot my phone so there is no photographic evidence of this - but it was CUTE. Take my word for it.

Easton is still doing the head-banging thing, and his forehead shows it with tons of bruises. He even gave himself a bloody nose the other day. It bothers me so much. I took him to the doctor, and she is familiar with our family history and she said that she believes he is mirroring Grayson's behavior. He usually does it most when he is super angry, and he gets angry FAST but it goes away quickly. No three hour long tantrums for this guy.

He is also biting, especially his brother. *sigh* He loves to tackle and he is such a brusier - he has no idea just how strong he is. Also playing the toilet is his newest favorite activity. Awesome. He's becoming familiar with the bottom step of our staircase as that is the time-out spot.

Easton resembles his cousin Emery - they both make the same cute scrunched up facial expressions. A couple weeks ago, Easton spent time with his cousin Colin then the next day EVERYONE was "Colin" or "baby." We loves his sweet little voice, and we cherish every word he says!

Easton, you are so great - so sweet - so funny - such a cuddlebug. Your sweet laugh makes me so happy, and so thankful I get to be your mom. WE LOVE YOU!

I've been spotted!

Here he comes!

Grayson says, "KNOCK IT OFF!"
