Valentine's Day!
Now that Grayson is in school, he gets to celebrate Valentine's Day at his very first school party. When the teacher sent home a note that we needed to make a Valentine's Day box, I'll admit it...I got a little excited. When I was a kid, I loved working on Valentine's Day boxes for school parties. My mom would help me, and those are some very fond memories of my childhood.
Since Grayson is three, and a young three at that, I can't really expect him to be aware of the holiday. I set a VERY strict budget for Valentine's for his ten classmates - seriously - I spent not even 5 dollars and felt extremely proud of myself ;)
I bought a tube of tiny cans of Playdoh, found a free printable online and one day during nap time took about 15 minutes to put it all together.
It has taken me nearly 34 years to learn that procrastination does NOT pay off so in addition to the class Valentines, I also prepared small gifts for his teachers, aide and therapists (7 altogether) (literally wrote Happy Valentine's Day on a blank card, put some washi tape on it and taped a little gift to it - took a half half hour tops) and then with Mike's help made a Cookie Monster Valentine's Day box. Took me 45 minutes but most of that was waiting for paint to dry!
