Easton | 19 Months

So I have missed a month or three of Easton's birthday update. Sorry about that, Easton :(

I am sitting here trying to come up with the words that do Easton justice. I just wish everyone could sit with him for five minutes and just bask in his sweetness.

Is that a weird thing to say? Oh probably. But that's how I feel so I am not going to delete it.

I have a hard time believing that GRAYSON was 19 months old when EASTON was born.

Try to wrap your minds around that, because I just can't even.

Easton is babbling all the time, and he is working hard to sound out words. Sometimes he mimics us perfectly and other times he struggles. So you guessed it...off to speech therapy he goes. We are still waiting to see if our terrible  insurance will cover it.

Easton's favorite thing to do is what Grayson is doing. He must do everything that Grayson is doing. He is his little shadow. If Grayson is drinking milk, Easton must have milk. Same with snacks. Same with ipad time. Same with spending time with Daddy.

When Grayson and Mike are roughhousing, Easton throws himself into the mix with no concern of being hurt or hurting someone else. He is a BRUISER.

Easton is purposefully defiant. If you ask him not to do something, he will do it to spite you and with a huge smile on his face and some giggles to boot. It makes it difficult to discipline him sometimes.

One of Easton's games is to bring you an object so you can tell him what it is. He loves to do that with alphabet magnets especially. He works hard to mimic the letter and the sound it makes and sometimes he is right on. He could play that game all day long.

He eats everything, but he is not a fan of sauerkraut. He must get that from me.

He is almost always smiling. Sometimes I will catch him looking at me, then I will smile and he will smile back.

Mike is teaching him how to play the recorder. No joke. I wish I had a video of this. He's actually not too bad for being so young!

Speaking of Mike, he showed Easton how to throw mini-marshmallows in the air and catch them with his mouth. Easton's attempt at this is hilarious!

Easton loves Cheetos. Its something special he shares with my mom. If she says, "Easton, do you want some Cheetos??" he runs to a specific chair and waits patiently for her!

He is done with the paci! I am so happy about this. One day - not unlike his brother - he just didn't want it anymore. I keep one in his crib and he uses that at night some times.

He is having some sleep regression. He has never been a great sleeper, but a couple times a week he will have me up in the middle of the night. Last night he was up at 1:30 and then again until 4 where he stayed up until 6 am. I am so tired right now! :)

I found this picture of Easton and I from exactly one year ago. I don't know how I look so fresh-faced and well-rested but somehow I must have been having a good day.

I tried to re-create that picture, and this is the best we could do.

I honestly feel like I have aged about ten years in one years time.

But all things considering, I guess after the year we have had, that kind of makes some sense. :)

Easton, you are SO LOVED. I wish I could write that in the sky (and that you could read) so you could see just how much I mean that. You are so precious! So funny! We are so glad you are ours.
