Easton | 14 Months

My sweet baby is turning 14 months old. Mike and I often refer to him as our "Mild Child" in direct contrast to Grayson who is our "Wild Child." Easton is incredibly laid back - most of the time. He goes with the flow - usually. But in those times where he doesn't want to be laid back, and he doesn't want to go with the flow? WATCH. OUT. He can throw a giant fit!

He is quite dramatic. He often collapses to the floor if he feels he has been wronged. He will fight tooth and nail to get his way. He is nothing if not persistent.

Easton has a big personality, despite his usual demeanor. I am not sure how that is even possible, but that is the case! He has the neatest sense of humor I have ever seen displayed by a baby. He has his running bag of "tricks" that he does for us - and his newest one is putting his hands on his head when we say, "OH NO!" He is always so pleased with himself after going through his little routine that he breaks out in wild applause.

He is generous in giving affection - almost to a fault. He full-body attacks for hugs and kisses. He is very cuddly when he is tired, and sometimes he is just content to sit on your lap. He doesn't need to be in constant motion, and I have walked out of the room to come back a few minutes later to find him in the same spot I left him.

After not having any teeth for so long, he has a mouthful now. We have had a lot of sleepless nights as a result.

Easton is not walking yet, but he is taking steps and growing more confident in standing. He can walk with one of us holding just one hand, though it is slow going.

He needs three items to fall asleep at night - his taggie blanket, his paci and his very favorite long handed Nuk spoon. He does not sleep through the night usually, and if he does, I instantly thing something is wrong with him. He does nap occasionally in the morning but usually in the afternoon for two or three hours (on a good day).

He isn't verbalizing a lot of words, and that does make me a little concerned given our family history. But he does mimic noises and sounds. He will say, "Ah-choo!" He also mimics the "MWAH" kissing sound to a tee. He says dada, mama and a whole host of noises that sound like words. He'll get there, I think. He waves hello and goodbye on command, and he tries to mimic our actions. He also does the sign for "more".

He sits with his legs crossed in front of him all the time. He gets that from me.

He is drinking just one bottle of milk a day, the rest is out of sippy cups. We are still dealing with some choking issues so feeding him grown-up food has been slow going.

Easton is our little caboose (most likely) and I am so thankful for him. Sometimes I worry he gets overshadowed by the attention his brother commands. He is just so loved - beyond measure. Mike and I are so enamored with our Easty!
