Easton | 13 Months

Hello from Easton! He turned 13 months on the 20th. He has been so funny this month - We have seen so many changes in him.

LIKE...

He doesn't choke on food anymore! Not as much anyway.

He mimics many of our actions. I think it is the cutest thing. I am teaching him sign language for "more" and he seems to be getting it.

He shakes his head no and nods for yes. But when I tell him NO, he shakes his head but keeps doing what he shouldn't be doing.

He is down to just about one bottle a day. He is drinking more milk at meal times. I will be so happy to be done with bottles. Those things are getting pitched, and it will be a celebratory day for all!

He loves CHEESE. Both of my boys are cheese fiends, and I end up finding shredded cheese EVERYWHERE. In diapers. In bellybuttons. In hair. Behind the ears. All over the carpet in the family room. In between the cushions on the couch. In MY?!? hair?!

EVERYWHERE.

He gets frustrated easily, but he is very tenacious. He goes after what he wants, even if that earns a scratch on the cheek from his brother.

He loves Grayson. Sometimes they wrestle, and they often make each other giggle. They love to play in the ball pit together.

He can now "jump" on the trampoline. He holds on to the bar then moves his legs like he is trying to hop, then he lets go and falls to his butt which makes him bounce.

He plays with Silvie by grabbing her toy and tossing it. He loves when she attacks it and giggles non-stop. Today when he was at my parents, she brought the toy to him :)

He got caught up on his vaccinations. We were a little behind but he is where he needs to be now.

He isn't walking yet, but I think it will be soon.

When he is upset, his favorite song is  "I Wanna Be a Miner's Sweetheart" - a song that I *think* originated in Western Pennsylvania. My grandpa used to sing it to my mom, and now she sings it to her grandkids. Easton has especially taken a shine to the song. When my mom isn't around, I am a sorry stand in for her - my voice isn't so sweet or on-pitch! It calms him down IMMEDIATELY. Never fails.

One part of the song goes, "I wanna hear that whistle blow..." so we always sing that and move his arm and say, "Toot toot!" He now does the arm motion without our prompting. :)

I often worry about Easton because he is usually overshadowed by his brother. It is hard to juggle them both. I'd really like Easton to start sleeping through the night every night instead of just a couple nights a week. I am so proud of him that he has gotten napping down!

He almost always has a spoon in his hand. It is his favorite thing to hold on too. He still loves his taggy blankets too.

Happy 13 months, Easton!! We love you!
