Having a Two Year Old | Part II
Last week, I was frustrated, anxious and hurting. And so I spelled all that out on this blog, and I was amazed and so very touched by the outpouring of support I received! Wowza. So many people came up to me in the grocery store, at church, etc and shared with me - each encounter bringing me hope and encouragement. And the text messages, FB posts and private messages I received touched my heart more than I could ever put into words.
So thank you. I appreciate it all so very much.
I touched - ha - on the frustrations of having a challenging two year old last week. But there are many many many good things about my two year old.
For starters, he is hilarious. He has a great sense of humor. We have several inside jokes which is such a neat thing - and songs that Mike and I sing to him throughout the day that get all sorts of responses out of him. He cracks Mike, Easton and I up every single day with his silly antics.
He is active. He keeps me on my toes. He always wants to run, jump, play ball or GO! (His favorite word.) I have lost so much weight just trying to keep up with him!
He is so adorable. His blond hair and huge blue eyes are always commented on when we are out and about. He has lashes for days too.
He has an adorable voice. I love when he talks to himself or when he tells me stories. I have no idea what he is saying, but he is so very excited to talk to me!
He is very affectionate. He never liked to be held too much as a baby - unless he was falling asleep. But over the last year or so, he loves giving hugs - huge hugs with his arms wrapped around your neck. He loves to sit on laps now especially while watching TV. He often sits next to me and puts his head on my shoulder.
In the morning Mike will get him out of bed, and Grayson will run into our room and hug me first thing. I always think he looks older every morning.
He made me a mom. About this time three years ago, we found out we were pregnant with him. He was a HUGE surprise. We had been married for almost six years and didn't think we could have kids - so yeah. The best surprise ever.
Though there are many days that I am frustrated, I do truly know how much my two year old blesses every single minute of every single day. I am fully aware, and I am trying to soak every minute up.
