8 Months | Easton

Easton is 8 months!

The weeks spanning Month 7 and Month 8 have been terribly long. I can't decide if it is because it is this terribly cold winter and we spend most days shut up in the house or the fact that Easton has been fighting sickness on and off again. Or that he refuses to sleep through the night. I guess it is a combination of all these things.

Right now Easton is in the midst of having another cold. He caught it from Grayson. :(

Needless to say, we are having LOTS of family bonding time. Lots of it.

Easton is sitting up just fine, and he can easily get from his stomach to a sitting position. I have seen him do that countless times, but he would much rather be on his stomach. He is army-crawling everywhere and when he can't army-crawl, he rolls. I liken him to a ninja.

He hates when you take things away from him - so much so that he bursts into tears. He also does not like when you leave the room. Or if you walk past him without talking to him.

He is starting to drink out of a cup which makes me hope and pray that his bottle days are ending sooner than later.

He is not a creature of habit. His brother definitely likes routine, but Easton is more go-with-the-flow. We don't have set nap times for him, though sometimes he will fall asleep around lunch time for a nap. He sometimes surprises me with a nap that lasts longer than 20 minutes.

He is often asleep by 9:00 pm. He does not cry when I put him in his crib anymore, and he usually soothes himself back to sleep. He still wakes up at 4:00 am or around that time to eat but he always goes back to sleep until 7 or 8 which we greatly appreciate. He usually sleeps with us for that stretch of time but more because I am too lazy to put him back into his crib.

He is a cuddlebug. Grayson never was but is now. So I am enjoying having a little one to snuggle with! He is perfectly content to sit on anyone's lap but he has to see what is going on. He is constantly watching Grayson's every single move.

When you take him out of his high chair or his car seat or swing, he lunges into your neck and "hugs" you. It's so cute!

He loves cords. And putting everything in his mouth. I am constantly sweeping and tucking things out of his reach.

He babbles so much. He always calls for MaMaMa - and sometimes for DaDaDa.

He has a contagious squeal and giggle. It is adorable.

He uses a pacifier but it is constantly being taken from his mouth by his brother. Grayson will either be found trying to use the pacifier but not really remembering how - so silly - or Grayson gives it directly to Mike and me when we ask because he is "helping." Easton is definitely not a paci addict like Grayson was. He can easily fall asleep without a pacifier which is nice.

He loves the car and usually "sings" along with the radio.

Easton always has a smile. All you have to say is "EASTON!" and he looks at you with his big bright blue eyes and gives you a big gummy smile.

Speaking of gummy...no teeth...yet. You can see the top ones up in his gums, but they still have a long way before they break through. And those bottom ones will hopefully show up by the time he goes to Kindergarten! :)

Easton, we ADORE you! <3
