Easton | 6 Months
Happy half-birthday, my sweet baby boy!

I can't believe that he has only been in our lives (not counting in utero) for just six months. I feel like he has always been here. He is the perfect addition to our sweet little family. He has such a cheerful disposition and has yet to meet a stranger!
He has taken on several new nicknames this month. I know this comes as a surprise to you! He is now Easty-Bay and Easteban (like Esteban). I know that is corny, but that's how this family rolls.
Speaking of rolling, Easton rolls everywhere! He just started to do that this week, and I think it is the cutest thing.
He started rice cereal last month - I was a little slower to start him on solids for some reason. Maybe because meal times are hectic enough with a toddler who would rather throw his food than eat it. This week though, we started Easton on green beans and carrots. The green beans were met with outrage. He looked at me like, "Are you kidding me, lady?!" after the first couple spoonfuls, then managed to turn almost completely around in his Bumbo to avoid having another bite. Carrots were better received.
Easton's favorite thing continues to be Grayson. He loves to watch him, and he cannot contain his joy and excitement when Grayson pays even a minute amount of attention to him. The peals of laughter just touch this mama's heart like nothing else on earth.
Night time tends to be Easton's fussy time still. Though its not as bad as it was when he was a newborn. He still does not nap well - maybe 45 minutes a day tops broken into a couple of catnaps here and there. We did start CIO on him last night, and like every first night of that, it was torture. However he slept in his pack and play for six hours which is kind of unheard of for him.
I don't want this to come off as though everything is perfect and we are all in harmony at this house, because that isn't the truth and it isn't life. We have really really hard days that sometimes outnumber the good days. Days filled with crying babies and toddlers and a mama that is just trying to keep them fed and clean diapers on them! Life is hard, but we roll with the punches and we are doing the very best we can. I am learning that it is important to just keep moving, no matter what is tossed your way.

He is eating about eight 5 oz bottles a day, which seems like a lot to me, but I would not say it is making him overly chubby. We go to the doctor for his six month checkup a week from Monday, so we will get the word then on his percentiles, etc. though we don't really go much by those. He is wearing a lot of 9 month clothes right now.
I recently went through Grayson's old clothes and pulled out what I could for Easton, though they are in opposite seasons. I can't believe that Easton is growing so fast and how quickly time is flying by!
Easton is not sitting up by himself yet very well, unless he is on your lap then he is pretty stable. I looked back at Grayson's six and seven month blog update, and we saw a lot of changes in Grayson around that time, so that could be the case here.
But of course I have learned that Grayson and Easton are two entirely different people! Their personalities might be polar opposites, it's hard to say at this point, but I am looking forward to finding out. I cannot put into words how my heart swells when I take in their tiny faces and silly antics. <3
