Grayson | 19 Months
I know I say this every month but it has been a BIG month for our Grayson.
Seriously. It really has.
For starters - he became a big brother!!!
He acts pretty indifferently towards his little brother. Sometimes he peers over the edge of the basinet, pokes him, giggles a little bit and runs away. Usually he just acts really jealous if Mike is spending time with Easton. So we are working on it. Someday he will adjust, but now we are being extra cautious when he is around Easton because who knows how he will react! :)
While I was in the hospital, Grayson spent his days with Grandpa and Grandma M - and BONUS! Uncle Robbie, Aunt Tracy, and cousins Emery (2 years old) and Laurenne (at the time she was 9 weeks old.) (And just starting to smile - be still my heart!) Anyway, he seemed to have a great time with them during the day, then in the evenings he would spend time with his Grandpa and Grandma S and Mike. He was not overly thrilled to come to the hospital to see me, but those visits pretty much meant the world to me - even though I couldn't pick him up and cuddle him like I wanted too. That was hard.
Ever since we brought Easton home, we feel like Grayson's personality is becoming even more dynamic. He has inside jokes with us now - which Mike and I think is the greatest. He clicks his tongue at us and then looks to make sure we are doing it. He will now grab our hands or our legs to lead us to something that he wants. He is also coming down the steps like a big boy - but still holding on to our hands.
The other day we went to Mike's work for a little bit then we ran some errands. No thanks to a construction crew working on the railroad tracks, we got stuck in traffic. Mike got us out of that mess, but then Easton started screaming - he was hungry - so we parked in a nearby prison (seriously) parking lot so I could feed him. I handed Grayson a sippy cup of water and his snack cup of crackers and he entertained himself the entire time. I kept looking back at him thinking, "Where did my baby go to??"
June brought with it a communication delay and fine motor skills delay diagnosis for our boy. We are working with a local agency to put together a plan of attack to nip this in the bud.
And now some pictures :)
