Insta-Saturday!

This evening, I just wanted to blog. But I didn't really have anything to write about - just had the urge to write SOMETHING. So I thought I would link up (a day late) with Jeannett at Life Rearranged for Insta-Friday. Check out some pictures I have taken over the last week. (Yes as a matter of fact, my iPhone DOES get a workout...)

My dear friend Stevie is getting married SOON! Her matron-of-honor and I threw her a bridal shower at my church. I made the centerpieces, which are just bud vases wrapped in washi tape and placed on pieces of wrapping paper. (I got the roll of wrapping paper for a dollar at Target...can't beat that.) The matron-of-honor brought in the beautiful blue-dyed daises. I like the effect! It was a lovely shower!


Stevie's aunt brought this cake from Cleveland. It held up remarkably well for such a long trip.

I love these ladies so much. Mallory, MaryAnn and Kelly (the birthday girl in the purple.) Kelly's hubby put together a surprise luncheon for her birthday. It was such a nice time! Also I laughed when I saw this picture - I told Mike, "One of these things is not like the other - and I don't mean I am the only pregnant one." I am reminded about my lack of wardrobe in pictures, and I get depressed. Someday maybe I will have the funds to buy some new jeans and some maternity clothes, but until that day I will continue to wear my wornout jeans and Mike's old hoodies :-/

The new addition at my church/place of work is coming along nicely. The windows were installed this week!

MOPS was this week! We made these cute little signs. We have had to cancel most of our MOPS meetings this year because of poor weather. 

I love getting Valentines in the mail! Especially these pretty vintage-inspired ones from my Grandma :)

I was sick sick sick this week. Pregnancy related mystery illness came back to haunt me for a few days, and then I got a terrible cold that I am still battling. Fortunately this happened during Mike's time off, so he was able to take care of Grayson while I languished ;) Seriously, I just didn't feel well and I still don't. My doctor said these colds can linger with pregnant women. Ugh.

I came downstairs to find Grayson asleep like this. Half on the chair, half on the ottoman. He sure loves his Daddy. 
For Valentine's Day, Mike got me Season 4 of Downton Abbey (as in the current season showing on PBS right now.) So yes, I do know what happened on the last two episodes. Too bad we have to wait another year for Season 5. This is definitely my favorite season to date.

Grayson doesn't know that when he is snuggling with me, he is also embracing his baby brother. But I do, and I think it is pretty much the cutest thing ever.

My nephew Emery is pretty much one of the coolest kids ever. I love this Valentine he sent to Grayson!! I love how he made his mark on it. :)

Grayson was NOT as thrilled about Season 4 of Downton Abbey...
Grayson loves his train table. He loves to sit on it, even though we discourage it. Of course probably taking pictures of him looking adorable while laying on it and kicking his feet are not helping matters ;) 
I painted an "E" for Easton and added it to our family initial letter collection :)

I love my boy. He loves to lay on my side when I am on the couch. He is such a cuddly kiddo.  At this point in my pregnancy, I have only gained about 7 lbs - was more but then I was sick again :( Anyway, the weight I have gained is in my face - especially my nose. My nose got huge with Grayson and seems it will repeat that with Easton too. Awesome ;)

43 and worried

I turned 43 yesterday.  A few weeks ago, I had to get my license renewed. I was feeling okay until I pulled out my old license and went to hold it up against my new license image. Mike caught me doing this, and he said, "NO! Don't do it, Erin!" which made us both laugh until I looked down and was shocked by the contrast. Four years ago, 20 pounds lighter (at least), smiling, hair perfectly done (or as well as I could do hair which isn't ever that great), I looked at least my age. Mike once remarked that of all the many license pictures he sees, mine was a really great picture. (But I know four years ago, life was no easier than it is now - in some ways it was harder.) But then the current picture. No life in the eyes or maybe just a lot of sadness, an abundance of wrinkles, hair that was out of place, and attempt at a half-hearted smile and a few additional chins. He's he-ere!

Introducing... Grayson Michael Born 11/25/12 at 3:02 am Grayson entered the world via emergency c-section. Mike got to step into the role of Daddy immediately and went with the baby while I was in the recovery room. They got to spend some time bonding in the nursery. Grayson is such a joy! He and his daddy hit it off immediately. There is nothing more attractive than watching your husband turn into a daddy. Be still my heart. We were in the hospital for SO many days...I could not wait to get home. I missed my bed. Which funny enough, I haven't gotten to sleep in since that first night home. Taking the steps more than once a day is just too difficult right now. So for now, we have been crashing on the couch. Unfortunately Gray had problems with jaundice, and he had light therapy with a bili blanket. Mike told people his son was rocking a low profile LED light bar - just like a police cruiser ;)  I love his little frowny face :) ...

Ready for the next season...

Usually I love spring. But this year is a different story. Spring has been mostly gray, cold and dreary - and with it, it has brought a great deal of heartache. With the uptick in aggressive behaviors from Grayson (thanks a lot, puberty) and the realization that we are now a year into being provider-less, to being told that Gray was too severe for one provider company, to having to research and call around to group homes to see if they are a good fit for Gray,  to Grayson's constant elopement attempts, to realizing that Grayson goes to therapy and comes home...he has very little to do for fun and he has no one outside of the family or his dedicated therapists to invest in him.  To make matters worse, right now Grayson gets very upset - to the point of property-damaging, when either Mike or I leave the house without him.
