Grayson | 15 Months

Grayson is 15 months old. Ahh - I cannot even believe it. He is growing more and more into a little boy and less and less like a baby each and every day. Sometimes I will find him laying on his stomach, watching TV, kicking his legs in the air, and I can't help but think - where did my baby go?

I never thought I would be one of those moms who lamented time passing, but guess what - I am there.

It's been an interesting month for our boy. He is growing and changing by leaps and bounds. I have always believed that his personality showed just minutes after he was born, and it continues to change and develop everyday!

- He loves and prefers to be barefoot. He is learning to like shoes - but mostly just the sound they make on the floor when he stomps around in them. I bought him his first pair of TOMS when they were on sale at Zulily, so I am waiting anxiously for those to get here. Hopefully he will be able to wear them all spring and summer. (I got them two sizes up!) He is happiest when he is free of shoes and socks - and LOVES when you take off his socks. The giggles are contagious!

- He is no longer drinking milk from his bottles. This was a big deal to me, and something that scared the living daylights out of me since he has been bottle-fed since he was four days old. To just stop that - well - it was nerve-wracking. His doctor probably would have preferred that I had done this back when he was just a year old, but I was sick and tired and sick with this pregnancy and just didn't have the will to do it. The other day after his 15 month appt, he was napping and I put away all the bottles. At first he was perplexed but not at all upset about it, and we have been moving forward and not looking back. He has done a great job transitioning!

- His doctor's appointment proved interesting. Mike was sleeping, so my mom went with me. Grayson was either a happy baby flirting with the doctor or he was screaming. He hates to get weighed - that was traumatic for him, but I was happy to hear he is in the 75th percentile for weight! He is no longer measured by the paper measuring tapes - he had to go stand at this cute monkey-themed height chart painted on the wall. That was upsetting to him too but I don't really know why! Ha :) He is 30 inches tall! Fortunately Grandma had Veggie Tales loaded on to her phone, and that kept Grayson occupied while we waited to see the doctor ;)

- He loves discarded clothes. He will pick them up and wave them around with abandon!

- The obsession with multiple pacifiers continues. He is getting his one year molars - they are almost all in - and the paci is a comfort to him so I am not ready to get him away from those just yet.

- He is a huge fan of the dryer at Grandma M's! It is the first place he goes when I drop him off at her house. He makes a beeline for it, passing by all of his toys. It is his favorite thing. When the chime goes off to say that the cycle is completed, he runs towards it. Our dryer is pretty boring in comparison to Grandma's. Usually he just tries to shut the door on me while I am trying to switch the laundry.

- He is learning to help! Today I was sorting clothes for Easton in Grayson's room. I had bins and clothes everywhere, and Grayson so sweetly decided to stuff a bunch of clothes in an old diaper box. When he had completed that task he came over to "help" me unfold all the clothes I had just folded. I sent him back to the diaper box and dumped it out and he had a field day shoving clothes back into it all over again ;)

- He is hilarious. He cracks Mike and me up all the time, and it is even better when he knows he is being funny and laughs and cackles along with us. He is such an amazing kid!! We are blessed.
