Gender Reveal!

Last Thursday, I had my anatomy scan ultrasound for the baby. I was a little nervous about it, because I haven't been feeling the baby move much - just small flutters here and there. Which is so different than it was with Grayson. And that's all I know, so I was questioning every little thing.

Turns out that my placenta is in the front, buffering a lot of the baby's movements. The tech told me the baby moved the entire ultrasound, only I felt very little of it. So that was a relief.

Anyway, we learned that the baby is A BOY. Grayson will be having a little brother. We are very excited, and I am just itching to do some redecorating of the nursery and to go through all of Grayson's baby clothes. I can't wait! But I have to pace myself because I still have 20 weeks left.

We named him EASTON :) Easton (and then my maiden name which I won't put on here.) But his initials are the same as mine which make it especially special for me :) Grayson and Easton. I think they will be quite a pair.

Mike really wanted to throw a gender reveal party for this baby, so we scurried around after the ultrasound to get things ready for it :) Along with parents, our friends Mary Ann and Justin and Garth and Kelly and their families joined us. A fun evening :) Below are some pictures - some taken by my dad, and others taken by me!

Our invitation :)

Grandpa Smith couldn't make it to the party, but Grandma Smith was there!

Mike said that Grayson was showing off in muscle shirt for Madeline ;) Honestly he had just eaten about three cupcakes and was covered in cake and icing - he did have a respectable shirt on initially.

Mike was so excited, that he deemed a "theme day" and made pink and blue pancakes for breakfast.

We had the balloons in a tub. Grayson just kept knocking the tub over.

Will and Mike finally got the lid off. We envisioned balloons rising towards the ceiling.
Did not happen. Oh well.

My cute parents and the reaction. Another boy! This makes three grandsons and a granddaughter for them.
And four grandsons for Mike's parents.

Sweet and goofy Garrett hamming it up :)

When plans to make a pink and blue cake went terribly awry, I whipped these devils food cupcakes up a half hour before people showed up. My mom artfully iced them for me. :)

We had a prediction board - I would say it was evenly matched.

Kids crowding around my mom so she would read to them :)

The kids loved to play with the balloons. But not Grayson. He cried for a solid 15 minutes after the reveal.
Was it because he upset about having a brother? Or maybe all the commotion was just too much for him ;)
