13 Months | Grayson and some other stuff...
On Christmas Day, Grayson turned 13 months old!
It has been a huge month of growth and development for our kiddo. I am still kind of caught up in a whirlwind of all he is doing right now.
Just for starters, he is WALKING. Yes that's right. You read that correctly. He is walking! It is a little surreal to see him just stroll (okay...toddle...) into the kitchen, his little bare feet just padding away. Usually as he walks, he is quite proud of himself so he is giggling or squealing with excitement. It is the best. The absolute best.
About a week after his first birthday, he decided it was time to take a few steps, then a few more until he realized he was across the room. He was at my parents and they witnessed the whole thing. I wasn't there and missed it. Sad. :(
He has gotten the hang of standing up from a squatting position - something he has just mastered over the last couple of days. We cheer for him every time he does it, and he just gurgles his happiness.
Another first? He is drinking milk now. Farewell, formula! Mike and I much appreciate the cost savings that come with ditching the formula for a gallon of Vitamin D milk. He took to it like a champ though he is not a huge fan of how cold it is. Since he is still drinking out of a bottle, we are dealing with some bubble issues and hope to be done with the bottle in the New Year. He is growing increasingly interested in sippy cups - so much so that he was trying to crawl out of the cart at the store to reach for one in the baby aisle.
This month also held hearing him say his first name - Gaysin :) And him identifying Daisy as Daisy! He has been pretty non-verbal - he talks a lot but you just can't understand what he is saying. So those were two big milestones. I am not at all concerned about that, and he will catch up in due time.
His second Christmas was a bit anti-climactic. He was pretty grumpy on Christmas Day and only showed real interest in the toy helicopter Grandpa Rob and Grandma Carol got him.
I don't have photos to share at the moment. My phone is about dead, and I haven't been able to take many pictures with it because it is so slow. And I have a nice camera but not a good working computer to download my pictures on to. Just take my word for it, that Grayson just gets cuter by the day ;)
As for Baby Number 2, this Saturday marks Week 14. It has been a very rough first trimester with a lot of sickness. I had no idea how good I had it with Grayson for the first trimester anyway. I am just waiting for Week 16 when I anticipate the swelling to set in again :-/ The plus side is that I weigh less now than I did when I got pregnant with Grayson so hopefully the weight loss will help set aside some swelling. And I am active and will be starting a new work out regimen soon - Hip Hop Abs. :) That will be quite a sight to behold, I assure you...
More thoughts on Baby #2 later, but this is all I have for tonight that I really want to share :)
