Since we moved home a year ago, I have been really blessed by a number of new friends. Most of them I met through MOPS. Several of them are old friendships rekindled. And a few of them are people I had never known before - and that I just met in passing - through church or other venues. I am so thankful for each and every one of my new friends.
Take my friend Kelly for example.
I met her at church initially. But thanks to a serendipitous conversation after a VBS meeting, we have become good friends. I enjoy spending time with her because we are both navigating being stay-at-home moms of little boys together. She is fun, kind and very relatable. She is the kind of friend you can welcome into your home even if it is messy, even if your child is being a terror because you know she will not judge you. And that is a friend worth having - seriously!
She is also a talented sew-er (is that word??) and also has the neatest blog. You can find it
here!
Through our conversations over the last few months, I learned that Kelly likes antiques - specifically Fenton glass. So I suggested that we leave our sons with their respective grandparents and take an afternoon for a little kid-free time. I ended up taking her to the antique mall I like to frequent.
Here are some our finds :) (And no, we didn't buy anything.)

These cute dishes caught my eye. I love the primary colors. They were too rich for my blood but I might have swooned a little bit. |
Beautiful quilts. They were also super expensive. And I tried not to think that someone might have died on these quilts. |
| Reminded me of the tea set my mom had as a child! |
I was in love with this. I actually have a bigger version with color lights. But alas - much too expensive. |
Kelly and I both fell in love with this old phone booth. It was the neatest thing! And when you opened the door, the light popped on. We oohed and ahhed and posed for pictures with this booth for awhile. And it was only 3 grand! I kind of think that is reasonable. |
| The former civil engineering firm employee in me wanted to bring these signs home. |
The bowls. AGAIN. I know I mentioned them in an older post. These are colorful pyrex bowls. From the days of yore. ;) I want them so much but these bad boys are 60 bucks! |
| The next booth over I found another set with a cost savings of just $1. |
This gorgeous display of Fenton glass was something we stared at for quite awhile. I love how it is arranged by color! |
| I don't think these Pyrex dishes are that old. But they ARE pretty.

We had so much fun. We wandered that building for HOURS. We topped the afternoon off with a late lunch at Max and Ermas and a quick trip to Hobby Lobby.
Looking forward to our next antiquing trip! :)
