An Update!
I know, I know. My blog has been neglected lately. I apologize, but I have a handful of excuses as to why I haven't been writing...
- Grayson oh Grayson. He has been working on his top two teeth for well over a month now. Add to that, he came down with his very first cold and was miserable for days. He is just now feeling more like himself as far as the cold goes. But the teething? The constant constant flow of drool? The crankiness? Oh, that's still going on. I am hoping those top teeth break through the gums soon so we can ALL get a little bit of relief.
- My brother Rob, his wife Tracy and son Emery came to Ohio for a visit! It was a wonderful time! I enjoyed seeing Robbie and Tracy as loving attentive parents to their boy! It is fun to see our loved ones in new roles. It made me wonder a little bit what I look like as a mom! Anyway. We had a great visit with them, and I loved meeting my nephew and seeing his parents.
- We are dealing with technical difficulties over here, folks. In the matter of one week, I managed to break not one - but two - power sources to my computer. The power cord for Mike's computer works for mine, however, his computer has zero battery life - and once it's unplugged - it shuts down the entire system - and even for a Mac, takes quite awhile to boot up again. And wouldn't you know, Grayson ALWAYS unplugs the computer while Mike is trying to pay bills online? It's frustrating, but we either need to A) Get a new computer. or B) Move it so that Grayson doesn't have access to unplug it! I think B is going to be the way to go.
- We are getting ready for Mike's shift change which will happen in just a few weeks. I have been reading up on ways to facilitate a smooth transition for him - as far as here at home. We will be installing curtain rods and room darkening curtains in our bedroom, and I will probably end up sharing a bathroom with Grayson! But that's okay - anything to make things a little easier on the hubs!
- A wise woman told me today that I need to take time for myself. I love to blog, and I miss it. But it is so hard to budget time for me when everyone else in my little family unit needs tending too. Most days I look at myself in the mirror and I don't recognize the tired woman looking back at me. I am afraid things are only going to get crazier once Mike's shift change happens. But this is for a short time in our life, right? Right. i hope.
Well if you will please excuse me, I have a sink full of bottles that need to be washed and a kitchen that needs to be cleaned. :)
