8 Months | Grayson

Our Grayson Michael turns 8 months old this week!

Eight months filled with lots of sweet moments, laughter, snuggles and some tears. Eight very happy - yet very hard - months that I will always look back on with fondness.

Mike and I are so blessed by our son. We learn so much from him - he teaches us lessons in patience, humility and perseverance each and every day.

Again this month, our boy is growing and changing by leaps and bounds. Mike said to me this morning while he was feeding him, "I am pretty sure he grew last night."

He will outgrow this toy soon!

I think the best words to describe him right now are: CONSTANT MOTION.

He never stops moving. He is always busy. Always doing something. Always getting into everything. Even though he hasn't mastered a full crawl yet (and I don't think he probably will), he gets along pretty well with his Army crawl. It is so funny to watch him laugh and cackle as he scoots around. He is such a ham!

Helping me with laundry.

Within the past month, he has learned to get into a sitting position from his belly. My aunt Betty Jean (aka the Baby Whisperer) taught him how to wave - something that he responds to with moderate success.

He babbles. We carry on many conversations throughout the day. It is either "Mum-mum" this or "ba-ba-ba" that. He likes to scream at the top of his lungs just for the pure fun of it. He growls and grunts like he is flexing his muscles.

Love.

This week he learned how to pull himself up on furniture. He is so proud of himself! He is also squatting with his legs and bracing his hands on the floor like he is trying to stand.

He uses people as his own personal jungle gym. It is his favorite thing to have people on the floor playing with him! He can play by himself but he much prefers to have someone playing with him.

He loves to chew on whatever he can get his hands on - everything from the remote control to his crib railing.

He got a short visit with his cousin Derek at Grandma and Grandpa's house. It was so fun having both babies there!

He had his first stay in a hotel room when he and I made an impromptu trip to Pennsylvania with my parents to see my aunts, uncles and cousins. I had so much fun introducing him to my cousin Jennifer and her two sons Hunter and Logan!

We got a two month break from the weight check. He now weighs over 16 lbs. His next appointment is at the end of next month. We are really enjoying not having to do the weight checks! Hope we can avoid them in the future. He loves to eat and will be starting on small bits of table food this week. I can't wait to see him take that on! :)
