Seven Months | Grayson
Mike and I are amazed by Grayson.
Always. Every day.
But lately we have been so astounded by the things he is doing, that it is so hard for us to believe he is the same tiny little baby we brought home just seven months ago!
He has gained at least 2 lbs. At least. That was the verdict the last time we weighed him on the bathroom scale, anyway. We will know for sure come Wednesday at his weight check.
I don't believe he has grown much length-wise like in months past, and he is starting to get rolls and baby chub. Moment of honesty: When I typed that last sentence out, I actually wrote "starting get my rolls..." There is some truth to that ;)
He has teeth now, people. TEETH. They have finally broken through the gums. I believe he is working on the top teeth now.
In retrospect, when I was writing my Grayson Grayson Grayson post, that was when he was teething, but I did not know it. Makes sense now.
He is on the move. Not quite a full crawl, but he gets around pretty fast. He moves one knee but drags the other one behind him. He is all over the place. He has a special fascination with the large air vent in our front hallway. He heads straight for that - so right now I have it blocked off with a basket and an ottoman. I am envisioning him spitting up down into it. What a mess that would be.
The bassinette is a distant memory. It is folded up and waiting to be put away. Grayson is now an accomplished crib sleeper, and the transition probably wasn't that terrible in the scheme of things.
He does seem to sleep less now he is in his crib - though he sometimes goes to bed as early as 8:30. We have had some much earlier mornings, which just means I need to go to bed earlier. Not always an easy feat with Mike working second shift and sometimes getting home pretty late.
I am telling you, everyone who is anyone (who lives in this house anyway) loves Mommy right now. Grayson is my shadow it seems and Daisy is always under my feet. I continue to feel like the most blessed lady ever because Grayson (and Daisy...I guess!) spend so much time with me.
We had some fun times this month! We have spent many hours at both sets of grandparents. We went to the park with Justin and Mary Ann, and their cute kiddos cannot wait for Grayson to play with them. Hearing their son Will call Grayson, "Baby Grayson!" gets me every time. I love that our children will be growing up with each other! How fun it will be to watch that :)
We also had a play date with my friend Kelly and one-year old Garrett. (Kelly has a fantastic blog - check it out here. Look at those photos she takes! Amazing. Check out her nursery decorating ideas, by the way. You. Will. Be. In. Awe.)
AND we also went to visit Cousin Derek and Aunt Kristi one day. Oh my gosh, my little nephew is so stinking cute - I cannot stand it!
Also, I feel it is appropriate to note that on Grayson's 7 month birthday, a special little boy (my nephew!) in Florida is celebrating his 1st birthday. Happy Birthday, Emery Marshall! We love you!
My life has been forever changed in the last year by all the amazing babies born into this world.
Grayson, especially.
