Insta....almost Saturday...

Well I am getting a late start on writing this post right now. If I can make it to actually posting on Friday, it will be an accomplishment. Grayson is in the middle of huge growth spurt and is eating non-stop. I have yet to master feeding him and blogging. Right now Mike is looking after him, but I hear his hungry cry starting to wind up.

Oh my word. Have I mentioned that being a parent is HARD WORK?? I am constantly worrying about my little guy.

But that is a post for another day.

My dad, mom and their little pack of dogs moved into our house this week. We are loving their company! They took me to their new house which is still under construction. This is the sunroom. I am so in love with this room. And its not even done yet. Those windows overlook the river. Gorgeous.

My Grayson Bay-son (yeah yeah silly nickname I know) rolled over this week for the first time! He did it for Mike's parents when they were watching him last Sunday, but he did it for us the other night. Mike got in on video!

There was much cheering and rejoicing when he did this. One proud mama right here :)

We are getting some things done around the house. I got this family rules sign from my parents, and we framed a picture of our little family. It was Mike's idea to hang them together. I like it!

I must be living under a rock. I have had my iPhone for a long time, and I just learned about the emoji keyboard. I had a little fun with it the other day. 

I love our floor in our entryway, hallway and kitchen. But the entryway needed something. So when we moved in, I tossed down a rug that had been a hand-me-down from my parents. We had it in the family room of our old house for a couple of years. When I got a new hand-me-down rug from my parents, I went to switch it out and found THIS. Gross. It took several minutes with the vacuum hose to sweep this up.

We went out to dinner at a new Italian restaurant with my parents tonight. It was pretty good!

How cute are these two??? I love how they are looking at each other. 
My mom offered to spend some time with Gray today while Mike and I were cleaning.
I found them like this in the nursery. 

Mike and I added some artwork to our previously blank and boring wall in the family room. These are pictures from our travels to Texas. Have I mentioned on here how much we love Texas? Because we do. A LOT.

I cannot wait to put together an Easter basket for Grayson!
I found these, and it was difficult to put them back on the shelf.

Mike and I just got caught up on the season finale of Downton. This is how we watch it since we don't have cable or  an antennae. Please disregard the dog toys :)

43 and worried

I turned 43 yesterday.  A few weeks ago, I had to get my license renewed. I was feeling okay until I pulled out my old license and went to hold it up against my new license image. Mike caught me doing this, and he said, "NO! Don't do it, Erin!" which made us both laugh until I looked down and was shocked by the contrast. Four years ago, 20 pounds lighter (at least), smiling, hair perfectly done (or as well as I could do hair which isn't ever that great), I looked at least my age. He's he-ere!

Introducing... Grayson Michael Born 11/25/12 at 3:02 am Grayson entered the world via emergency c-section. Mike got to step into the role of Daddy immediately and went with the baby while I was in the recovery room. They got to spend some time bonding in the nursery. Grayson is such a joy! He and his daddy hit it off immediately. There is nothing more attractive than watching your husband turn into a daddy. Be still my heart. We were in the hospital for SO many days...I could not wait to get home. I missed my bed. Which funny enough, I haven't gotten to sleep in since that first night home. Taking the steps more than once a day is just too difficult right now. So for now, we have been crashing on the couch. Unfortunately Gray had problems with jaundice, and he had light therapy with a bili blanket. Mike told people his son was rocking a low profile LED light bar - just like a police cruiser ;)  I love his little frowny face :) ...

Ready for the next season...

Usually I love spring. But this year is a different story. Spring has been mostly gray, cold and dreary - and with it, it has brought a great deal of heartache. With the uptick in aggressive behaviors from Grayson (thanks a lot, puberty) and the realization that we are now a year into being provider-less, to being told that Gray was too severe for one provider company, to having to research and call around to group homes to see if they are a good fit for Gray,  to Grayson's constant elopement attempts, to realizing that Grayson goes to therapy and comes home...he has very little to do for fun and he has no one outside of the family or his dedicated therapists to invest in him.  To make matters worse, right now Grayson gets very upset - to the point of property-damaging, when either Mike or I leave the house without him.
