8 Weeks | Grayson
How is it possible that Grayson is eight weeks old?
(Okay - technically he won't be eight weeks until Sunday.)
I say that, but if I am going to be brutally honest - the last eights weeks have been the shortest and LONGEST eight weeks ever. Ever. I am going to chalk that up to the lack of sleep that we - and every other new parent - have been enduring.
Grayson will have his two month appointment next week along with his first round of vaccines. Poor little guy. I still haven't recovered from the TDAP vaccine I got while in the hospital...I can't imagine getting the cocktail of immunizations like he will. I know I did get them, but I am so glad I don't remember it! And I am glad he won't remember it either!
Okay. A few things about Grayson this month...
- At his one month appointment he was 8 lbs 7 oz and 22 inches long. We have one skinny kiddo on our hands. At that point he hadn't even passed my birth weight but had gained two pounds since birth - since he lost so much that first week - more than he was supposed to. (I am positive he has packed on more weight since then.) We were surprised he wasn't any longer than that - we were certain he had grown at least four inches! :)
- He has started to SMILE! And giggle a little bit. Oh my word - be still my heart! I cannot even put into words the way I feel when he breaks out in a huge, gummy grin. Mike and I always laugh in delight when we are graced by his smile.
- He coos all the time. He is constantly talking - he definitely likes to hear his own voice!
- He still sleeps in the basinet next to our bed but we plan to move him to the crib soon - before he turns 12 weeks.
- He loves to sleep with his head turned to the left.
- He has the cutest sneeze ever. He makes this really loud noise right before he sneezes...so it sounds like he is actually saying "AHHH-Choo." Hilarious.
- He is much like his mother in that he does not like his feet to be tucked in. Several times I have found at least one foot kicked out of his sleeper.
- He is sleeping about 8 hours a night. Which is awesome. Only he goes to bed around 2 am.

- He had his first trip to the emergency room. He was fine. Me on the other hand - I was diagnosed with worried-first-time-mom syndrome. Don't worry - I am expected to make a full recovery.
- He has officially won over Daisy. This was a huge concern for me. I was afraid Daisy would not like him and be mean to him - heaven knows she is not crazy about Mike - but quite the opposite! She usually follows me around, but now she looks after him when I leave the room and he is in his basinet. I know she is still an animal and could be unpredictable, but after the below exchange occurred, I am not as concerned.

Well done! How neat to see Grayson's weekly picture and how much he has grown. And that smile is just adorable.
ReplyDeleteI love the new layout and look!
