Life has been a little crazy around here. Mike and I are working opposite shifts, but we get to catch up with each other on Fridays and Saturdays - Mike's days off. Not like we have never worked opposite shifts of each other before. Most days I see him for about an hour, if that. And that whole time he is sleeping! It's not our favorite, but we make it work! In the middle of putting the finishing touches on the house, looking for new houses and lots of hours at the office and on the road, we have made a little time for some fun. I've taken a few pictures over the last week or so that I'd like to share! Enjoy! :)
Game Night!
My strategy at playing Lord of the Rings Risk is to not take any. Risks I mean. I have played this game twice, and both times I've come in second place. Mike's a little bit more aggressive in his game-playing, but not me! We enjoy our game nights with our good friends!
Lazy Daisy
Since Daisers and I have so much quality time together, we spend a lot of it on the couch. We are couch potatoes. Anyway, if anyone is a bigger loafer than me, it's Daisy. I think she spends most of her time in the loft either spread eagle like above or curled into a tiny ball.
DAM
Mike and I spent my lunch hour together this past Friday. We went to Hoover Dam, which is just about 5 minutes from my office. We have gotten a lot of rain recently, and this is the heaviest I have ever seen the water flow over (or is it under??) the dam. I just love the sound of rushing water - so soothing! (Unless it is the sound of bad rushing water - overflowing toilet/washing machines/sump pump!)
Kiddoes!
Mike and I baby-sat for our friends the other night. They have three kids under the age of 5. Needless to say they keep us on our toes! But they are such sweet and kind little kids. We just love them to pieces. Mike was playing a game on the Wii with the boys, while I cuddled the baby who just wouldn't go to sleep. She ended up falling asleep on Mike before the night was over, and he was able to successfully place her in her crib without accidentally waking her.
Good Eats
We met my parents at our favorite restaurant - J. Alexanders - for lunch the other day. And yum. I get the cheeseburger with Tillamook cheddar and smashed potatoes. Words cannot describe how amazing those potatoes are. We also started our meal with J. Alex's fresh salsa and warm tortilla chips. Amazing.
Birthday!
Since Mike worked today, I attended a birthday party as the sole rep from our family. It was a very special birthday - the first one! Look at this spread! My friend is so creative - I loved her party decorations! The food was amazing, the company was great, the weather was perfect. It was a great day for a first birthday party :)
Until next time!
