It was like Christmas. Well...a delayed Christmas anyway. At work. After an unfortunate incident with a neighbor stealing a box from Barnes and Noble box off our front stoop at our old apartment complex (joke was on them - it was filled with landscape architecture books), Mike and I now have everything shipped to either my work address or my parents' house. After coveting some amazing items at The Pleated Poppy for MONTHS, I decided to go ahead and do a little online shopping. That was a couple days ago - and I knew that this week sometime I would be getting something in the mail.

So when I checked my department's mailbox today, I found quite a surprise! I ran upstairs (and delivered the mail to the appropriate coworkers of course) and then hurried back to my desk and ripped open the packaging.

And underneath it, this is what I saw. Be still my heart.

Sigh.

I had to take just a moment and gaze at it.

Then I opened it further to find this little gem.

I pulled my hair back (as best I can because it's in that weird in-between length right now) and tucked it into my updo. LOVE. I tried to get a picture of it, but got a lot of pictures of my arm and the ceiling instead. Oops. Not too skilled at taking pictures of myself.

And then finally the piece de resistance:

A beautiful, roomy Bloom Bag that matches my new trench coat from Target perfectly. I love it. And I could probably fit my dog into it if I wanted to. And if she'd let me. Which she wouldn't. Definitely the biggest purse I have ever owned.

I was thrilled. My day was made - or so I thought - when the receptionist emailed about a package UPS had just dropped off for me. Heart racing (well not really - but I was excited) I raced down the steps once more, tore open the packaging (not unlike Ralphie and his brother in the Christmas Story) and I found these:

Red classic cord TOMS. This picture is not the best quality because I took it under my desk. And I used an Instagram filter on it.

Believe it or not - I actually got a lot of work done - and my excitement over my purchases lasted all of 5 minutes. Which I more than made up for by working through my lunch. ;)
