It is hard to believe that six years ago, Mike asked me to be his wife.

I knew to some extent that it was coming. We had already been ring shopping, but I hadn't realized that Mike had been working with the jeweler all along to come up with the perfect, one-of-a-kind engagement ring for me. :) At that point, we had already discussed wedding flowers and where we would be honeymooning. I knew it was only a matter of time.

So when Mike suggested a day trip to Lake Erie - our last trip for the year - I figured something was up. And when we had to wait around at my parents' camper until sunset, I grew a little more suspicious. And when we sat on a large flat rock overlooking Lake Erie as the sun was setting, and Mike started to quote the Bible verse about the greatest of these things being love, I knew that was it. Before I knew it, he was slipping the most beautiful ring I had ever seen on to my finger and I was crying happy tears.

Mike told me tonight that proposing to me was easy. That his friends had encouraged him to write something out, but he didn't feel he needed too. He said it was just a natural thing, asking me to spend the rest of our lives together. I joked with him that it was easy because he knew I would say yes.

Anyway I just wanted to share :) Saying yes to Mike was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
