I decided that I needed a few projects to tackle while Mike is away/studying.
Keep in mind that I start projects but rarely finish them. So that complicates things.
I've been finding small victories in accomplishing little tasks - like keeping my house clean during the week. Or rather just the kitchen and living room, but that's all that really no one sees because I haven't had anyone over. As for the kitchen, that's not really a stretch because I haven't been cooking much. Who likes to cook for just one person? Not this girl.
I said "small victories" after all. :)
So I thought maybe I could keep myself accountable...here's what I am chomping at the bit to do:
-Clean out the second bedroom upstairs. Mike is using it as a studying area, but it is filled to the brim with a lot of junk. How he can focus in a room surrounded by junk is beyond me. Thankfully we have a desk in there now, thanks to my inlaws! At least he has a place to sit...
-Paint the second bedroom. We already have the paint color that Mike picked out, we just haven't done anything with it yet.
-Clean out the garage and get rid of our old dryer and old lawnmower. Our garage is miniscule. When we had the MINI and my little VW, it was no problem - but now that we've upgraded cars in terms of size anyway, we have even less room. I can't even close the garage door and walk around Mike's car like I used too.
-Paint the kitchen. I am going to tackle picking out colors with a friend this week. So at least I am making progress on that.
-Call Bath Fitter or SOMEONE to come in and put in a new shower in our master bath. One without those stupid doors that are nearly impossible to clean. And something to cover up the tile. I once said that having tile in the bath of a house would be a deal-breaker for me - but yet, here I am with not one but TWO baths that have awful, impossible to clean tile. I hate it. This will have to wait until we can save up some funds though.
-Create a piece of "art" for above the fireplace. I've started on something, but it is not real pretty. I might have to start over.
-Pick out new appliances. All of ours are over a decade old. I fully expect them to give out at any moment. Especially the refrigerator as it is making horrible noises.
I think that is it. :)
