I hit a wall today.
Really it was yesterday.
I worked a long day, came home, changed into my fashionable workout attire (a pair of Mike's old cut-off sweats and a tank top) and hopped up on the elliptical to do my Couch to 5K training...I worked out for about 15 minutes when I just stopped, got off of the machine and walked away. I didn't even feel guilty about it until Mike came home from work later in the evening and I told him. He didn't even have to say anything. I just felt guilty.
I felt bored, tired, worn out from the day, starving and lonely. All of those feelings in one minute. I probably didn't have enough capacity to juggle another emotion so that's why I didn't feel guilty ;)
Today I decided to restart last week and do it again...Week 4 Day 1 was just a lot. Mostly running really.
I am also a tiny bit concerned that my elliptical is going to take off with me like the stationary bike did to Chris Farley in Saturday Night Live while he was giving his "down by the river" speech.
I feel like I am seeing results. I barely get winded running the flights and flights of stairs at work - which is huge. I just had a minor setback. So I did Week 3 Day 1 and got through it with minimal pain. This week I decided to incorporate watching what I eat. We'll see how the two things combined work out for me. We are also buying a scale so we can keep track of losses on a day to day basis.
Mike just brought up some Runners World magazine he got at the library so I am off to read before bed!
