After sitting on the front step with Daisy on my lap, enjoying the weather, I decided to open up the windows and turn of the air. Probably something I will regret later this evening, when this house, that can hold heat like none other I've ever been in, is completely sweltering.
I could only think of one thing as I sat outside and that way - Nicely done, Lord!
A beautiful day :) The only thing I have scheduled today is a quick trip to the airport to pick up our friends and their kids who will be returning from Arizona. I think a cookout sounds like a nice idea for either today or tomorrow. We have zero propane for our grill so we'd have to remedy that, but right now I am thinking that hamburgers, pasta salad and Mike's amazing avocado pineapple salsa sound amazing - and would be even better if we ate that out on our deck!
Yesterday I spent the day with my best girl friend - Mary Ann - who I have known since we were fourth graders in Sunday School class. She has been my closest friend through all ups and downs of adolescence, high school, college, post college, engagements, marriages and pregnancy (well for her anyway ;) ) We were honor attendants in each others weddings. And an added bonus is that her husband and my husband have been best friends since middle school! :) She treated me to lunch, pedicures and then to ice cream afterwards - then I got to spend a little time afterwards cooing over her little son, Will. Just a great day :)
On the way home, I drove past a place where we used to camp when I was a kid. I fought the temptation to stop in and take a look at our old favorite campsites. We spent many Memorial Day weekends at that campground. I want to start some traditions of our own - because as of now, I don't think Mike and I have any traditions. Maybe our tradition is not to have any traditions? :)
My C25K program is going well - though Friday I barely made it through. I think it's because I hadn't had really anything to eat all day. I got through it but it was rough. Tomorrow starts Week 4! I've never stuck with an exercise program this long before. I am sure I am surprising everyone - because I know I am certainly surprising myself! :)
Well I am off to look online for paint colors, etc as Mike and I are talking about painting the kitchen and our bathroom this summer.
